Adopting With RFTSR

Kiwi the sweet
little Welsh Terrier cross & her 6 beautiful pups will be available
for adoption in the next month.
When
adopting an animal with RFTSR we ask that you remember and respect that
all our animals are in foster homes which means we cannot simply do not
have the animal available at all times to meet you.
When you have seen one of our rescue animals and are interested in potentially
adopting them we ask that you begin the process by filling out an adoption
application with which we can determine if it is a potential good match
and set up a meeting between you, the animal you are interested in and
ourselves. If all goes well there we will follow up with a homecheck after
which members of our organization will determine whether the match seems
like the right one for the animal and for you.
Our main goal is not just to find a home for an animal but to find both
the right home for each animal as well as the right animal for you and
your family so that everyone can have years of shared happiness.
Obviously this process takes more than one day and we ask your understanding
and patience when making a decision that will last a lifetime... your
dog or cat's!
For more information on adopting an animal with us, for information on our adoption donations and information on our adoptable animals please click here for the main adoptions page or use the main menu at the top left of this page.

Sunday,
October 31st 2010 - Release of Fundraising Recipe book.
This bulk of the recipes in this book are designed to be enjoyed by both
humans and our dogs, cats and other assorted carnivores. Though no one recipe
is suited as a 'complete diet', we encourage you to begin finding ways to
prepare quality meals for your pet at the same time as preparing them for
yourself. Isn't sharing marvelous! We hope to launch the book for $20 a
copy, dependant upon how we publish (binding covers, etc....). The recipes
have all been designed and adapted by Jacqueline, if anyone is able and
willing to help with any other aspect of getting this book to publication
please email us at cookbook@reachforthestarsrescue.com
Sunday,
October 31st 2010 - Fundraising Costume AYCE Pancake Breakfast

Clinton Hughes. The plan is to make it pet friendly. There will be great
prizes for best costume, best couple costume, best group costume, all categories
will apply to both the humans and the pets except the categories that already
combine the two (i.e. best human/pet couple). There will be spooky pancakes
and questionable juice, halloween coloured whipped cream and seasonal jams
& jellies. We hope to include a seasonal bake sale to this late fall
event. This listing will be updated as more information becomes available.

November 13th 2010 - Possible date of our first ever SPA DAY.
This will be a phenomenal event that we hope to hold twice a year. Locations
and specialists in spa and supporting specialties who would like to join
'donate the day' so to speak. Services will be priced at a prearranged amount
(discount to the client who is receiving the service as a donation), of
which a certain amount per service will be held back by the location/specialist
to cover costs. The remaining portion will be donated to RFTSR. Once
RFTSR has their charitable status they will offer tax receipts to the businesses/specialists
who have been approved to join the program and who make these generous donations.
We are hoping to find Spas, Salons and Specialists willing to join the program
even now, before we have been endowed with charitable status and cannot
offer tax receipts. We hope that there is enough interest in helping dogs
and cats in need to make this first ever day a resounding success. Interested
businesses/specialists or those interested in volunteering to help organize

for more information and join us in the launch of this exciting program
for the benefit of dogs & cats in need.

it means a challenge. We hope to have obtained our charitable status by
next fall at which time we would look to creating an exciting raffle complete
with great prizes like jewellery, trips, etc.... for more information or
for those who would like to help out please email christmasraffle@reachforthestarsrescue.com

Our Permanent Foster Program

Tom, a permanent foster with RFTSR, is FIV+ & FeLV+
For those animals who are less adoptable, such as Tom the cat who is both
FIV and FeLV+, we have our permament foster program which sees us placing
these animals into loving family homes where they can be well cared for
and loved for the remainder of their lives. We at RFTSR provide these foster
homes with everything they need to give the best possible care to these
animals from food and litter to all medical care and supplements required.
These animals are maintained with the best possible care available as long
as they have or can heal to have a good quality of life. We do not condone
needless suffering and when these animals come to a time when they have
no quality of life and have no hope of returning to a quality life we help
them cross the rainbow bridge to a better place. These are animals which
you will not see posted on our 'Adoptable Pets' lists, nor will they appear
on our 'Foster Animals' lists, though you can help support them through
our Sponsorship Program.

themselves click

Tunu was brought to us in January
2009, along with 3 siblings All four had severe gastro symptoms and they
were not neccessarily expected to survive. Thank to the generosity of
individuals like you we were able to provide the medical care, medicines
and foods needed for all four puppies to recover 100%. All four dogs have
since
been adopted into loving forever homes and have long and happy lives ahead
of them.
Our orgranization is completely dependant on fundraising to pay for all costs relating to our activities. We have developed a Sponsorship Program for those who would like to have a say as to how their donations are spent. By regularly updating a list of what the animals need and what it costs we are giving you the opportunity to help them in the ways you want to. With sponsorship amounts from $5, (feed and supplement a dog for a day), up to $1600, (the average cost of rescuing a dog), we offer anyone who wants to help a way to do just that.
For sponsorship donations of $20 or more we will send you an digital picture of the animal you have helped as well as a digital certificate which you can print out. Our sponsorship program is a great gift for animal lovers anywhere, any time.
For more information on our Sponsorship Program and a list of current needs please visit our Sponsorship Program Page by clicking here or using the main menu to the left of the page.
